Winterfest 2009-10

With events scheduled from late November through early February, Winterfest has become an annual tradition in Council Bluffs. A variety of sport, art, and community activities will be held all over the city.

Winterfest Frozen Golf Outing - Saturday, January 9

Frozen Golf Tournament. Dodge Riverside Golf Club (2 Harrah's Blvd.) is the location of 9-hole tournament with prizes in three age divisions. The shotgun will go off at 10:00 a.m. $25 entry fee includes door prizes and refreshments. Pre-registration preferred (call 328-4660).

Look Here!Winterfest Snow Softball Tournament - THIS YEAR'S TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO CONTINUAL INCLAMENT WEATHER

Snow Softball Tournament. Gather your Men's and Co-Ed teams and come to the Council Bluffs Recreation Complex (2900 Richard Downing Ave.). $100 per team includes a double elimination tournament with umpires and prizes for winners in both divisions. Pre-registration required (call 328-4650).

Parks and Recreation will host several Winterfest events, including:

    Winterfest Lights in Bayliss Park - November 19

    Join us as we turn on the lights in the Park, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19. Christmas music, treats, children's craft, and a visit from Santa! Free!

    First Night - December 31

    Iowa and Nebraska's only First Night Celebration, offering free family fun and celebrating the New Year through the Arts! Click on the website below for more information.

    Xtreme Winterfest Bike Ride - January 2

    Xtreme Winterfest Bike Ride. January 2 will be the date for this fun, family event, co-sponsored by Xtreme Wheels, the Western Historic Trails Center and the Riverside Grille. The leisurely 6-mile (roundtrip) ride will begin at the Trails Center and go north along the Iowa Riverfront Trail to the Riverside Grille. This ride is free! Lunch specials will be available at the Riverside Grille.

    Ride starts at 11:00 a.m. Come early for free cocoa and tours of the museum!

    Sponsored by: Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation, Xtreme Wheels Bike and Sport, Inc., Western Historic Trails Center, and Riverside Grille.
