Council Bluffs is home to two beautiful outdoor aquatic centers. Katelman Water Park and Pirate Cove Water Park are open seasonally to the public.

Hours of Operation

  • Monday's, 12:00 - 8:00 P.M.

  • Tuesday - Thursday, 12:00 - 7:00 P.M.

  • Friday - Sunday, 12:00 - 6:00 P.M.

Pool Parties

  • Pool Parties may be booked starting Opening Day at either Katelman Pool or Pirate Cove Pool. You may book 1 party per adult at a time.

Family Nights

  • Family Nights are on Monday's, 5:00 - 8:00 P.M.

Swim Under the Lights

  • Pirate Cove: Theme Nights are June 7 (TBD), July 6 (TBD), August 2 (TBD) Swim passes can not be used at Swim Under the Lights events.

  • Katelman Pool: Theme Nights are June 14 (TBD) and July 12 (TBD) An extra night has been added, August 9th (Karaoke at Katelman) Swim passes can not be used at Swim Under the Lights events.

Swimming Pool Policies

  • Swim Passes are for the use of the purchaser only. Verification of family members for season passes may be required. Swim passes can not be used at Swim Under the Lights events.

  • Season passes are for recreational swimming at the two municipal outdoor pools only. Passes must be shown each time upon entering the pool.

  • All children seven (7) years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult during recreation swimming.

  • No season pass or punch card refunds or partial refunds.

  • Pools usually close August 20th - 25th, depending on available staff.

Both water parks have adjacent sand play areas.
